Been tearing my hair out.

The skin smoothing tool has stopped working completely across all projects. If I select “color overlay” in the gears menu, sometimes the existing smooth brush strokes appear in red,.. but mostly they don't.

** I can't add any new brush strokes ** they simply do not appear. Interestingly, if you select brush strokes you can see the strokes but the actual skin smooth filter isn't applied to the mask! WEIRD! You can also select invert and the filter is applied to the whole image - but you cannot manipulate the mask at all.

I've reinstalled Aperture and I've also rebuilt the library but nothing seems to work.

Background: I'm running Aperture 3.4.3 on Macbook Retina with latest OS, 16Gb/500SSD - nothing else and I'm shooting with a Nikon D800 in RAW.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I have a sweaty model that needs airbrushing ASAP!
