I do not know if tihs is the right place tro write about the 2.0 Firmware update but:
I updated the GH5 to FW 2.0 and when I wanted to playback the footage, the camera message popped up:
This battery pack can not be used:
It is an original Panasonic battery back.
That is not good. I am charging my other battery packs now to see, if it shows the same message.
Could you check, if it happens with your battery packs as well?
+Dieter Knüttel Thanks for letting me know. And cool you have batteries from way back then!!
PhotoJoseph
thanks for your reply.
The message that I could not use the battery pack came repeatedly five times, also when I took the battery out and put it back in again (it was the only fully loaded one at that time).
I've then tried my batteries from the GH4 and GH5 and they worked. Then I tried third-party batteries, they worked as well. Then I tried the power adapter, DMW-DCC–12 and it worked.
Then I tried the problematic battery pack once more, which came from the GH3 from 2012, and surprisingly, now it worked as well.
And now everything seems to work fine.
Lets call it a "hickup" from an old battery pack.
Thanks for your time
+Dieter Knüttel All my batteries are fine. Power down the camera, remove the battery, wait a few minutes then try again. If that doesn’t work do a camera reset. Let me know how it goes with your other batteries too.
Hello from Winchester (North Roseburg, OR). I was unable to watch the live stream but started to watch this last night (9/25). Half way through, the picture froze and it started to buffer. I initially thought it was caused by the 1080p/60 until I realized my entire internet was down! Finished watching tonight (9/26). There are many folks now using live stream to vlog, but you are one of only a very few that appear to know how to use it. Thanks. Also, I love your coffee mug.
Thanks! It's a lot harder than most people think to make it work right… and I've been doing this for a while now. I appreciate the kudos.
I watched your GH5 training on Lynda and really enjoyed it. I can say it was the best camera training they've seen on there and I've been a member there for over a decade!  I left you a rave review because you really deserve it. It was super comprehensive! Thank you!
+Real World Endo wow awesome, thank you!
Should censor people's emails... :X
I laughed when you said you use OBS now.. Since, that's what I recommended long ago. All that crazy hardware you've bought, and in the end it's a free, open source broadcasting software you leverage. :D
Don't get too excited Xackery… OBS can't do anywhere near what I can do in the hardware. Not to mention that even if I wanted to use it for all the switching, PiP, etc., (which technically it can probably do, but in my experience software falls apart very quickly with this many sources), I'd still have to have an interface unit to get those cameras/sources into the Mac. That's a lot of SDI and HDMI inputs that simply don't exist on any computer. The only reason I tried OBS was to see if 60p worked, and it did. Not saying I may not continue to use it for the streaming part, but there's no way to do what I do without the "crazy hardware".
