Did you know that you could get edit ProRes RAW in Resolve this way?
Thanks!
That’s so awesome, thank you!
hi, great video. At 6:26, in the camera raw tab, why wouldn't my colour space be chosen to specific camera colour space like you, which is Panasonic V- Gamut. the three option I can choose are rec709, P3D60 and black magic design ?
Interesting; what camera did you shoot on? And I’m assuming you converted with Raw Converter (the app shown here)?
#TIL "mezzanine files", call them digital interneg, call them proxies, but oh soo cloud storage delicious! You can work on projects with remote editors. It can be done and reconformed to those large/dng files at the end. NO More Blue Monday.
Glad you like the tip!!
Hi I have raw convertor and Assimilate...raw convertor is faster but somehow I have the feeling that assimilate makes the conversion better...
@@photojoseph Yeah the Assimilate IO is old and clumsy I use it to make proxy's of Proresraw footage I had some issue to make proxy from cdng data.
About comparaison I have no idea how to make the test but at the same level of compression 3:1 Neat was working slightly faster with Assimilate cdng footage vs raw converter (mostly I transcode S5 org,S5iiX and GH5s and my computer is not the newest as my GPU )
And sometimes with raw converter my PC crashed without raison and I had zero problem with Raw Converter.
I too have Assimilate and it’s a pain in the 🫏 to use. I’d love to see a comparison quantified because I don’t think it’s better. You have compression levels from nothing to considerable in Raw Converter and the ease of it is unparalleled. If someone can prove that Assimilate is better I’d love to see that.
I'm using Assimilate Play Pro Studio on Windows to do this conversion. I presume that's similar. Or is there more to it in RAW converter ?
Simplicity. I find Assimilate overly complicated.
Does timecode get transferred to DNG as well
Interesting. I didn't know you could preserve timecode in CinemaDNG files.
@isaacalgutria that’s fair. I didn’t think to answer that question even in the second half, and it’s a good one!
@@photojoseph thank you. I appreciate. I’ll be honest I didn’t watch the 2nd half since I don’t do cloud workflow.
💯 absolutely — the second half of this video would be impossible without it. I even synced off-camera audio with the DNG via timecode.
I've used Adobe Premiere for 25 years. But after the recent Adobe BS treating customers badly and the fact that Premiere crashed 10 times with my i9 PC. I'm seriously going to consider DaVinci Resolve for my next film. (Shark) Is Raw Convertor available for Windows?
@@photojoseph Thank you so much Joseph!
It appears to be! https://www.rawconvertor.com/
