Question. I think perhaps I have overlooked the need for a fast versitile lense for darker light situations or night time. Which lense would you recommend to complete my kit for the foreseeable future? Capable of Astro Photography, and a good all rounder for landscape, (bokeh) product shots & family events etc

I would not choose any of the listed lenses. I shoot solely with the Olympus M.Zuiko Pro lenses. They are very versatile for any situation, robust and I get great results. I tried the New lumix leica lens , which did not even give me close results. I probably need to mention that I shoot shoot mainly architecture. Also, to me it is very important the customer service from Olympus. You get your lens repaired, certified and cleaned back in a very reasonable time.
14-140 f3.5-5.6?
As an Olympus user I found this really interesting to watch - I only bought my system a year ago so I am only starting to look at expanding my range of lenses. The first lens I bought that was not the kit lens was a Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II. And I love it. So I was really surprised that you didnt even mention it. Its such an affordable tiny lens. I can see myself stilll using it as I collect more/high quality lens especially when going out to dinner.
I havent read through the comments so I am sorry if I am going over something someone else has already brought up but if not I think this lens deserves at least a mention in your lineup. I am now off to watch the rest of the series! I probably should have done that first :S
Thanks again
The de-clicked aperture clearly screams "video". But... video often means a rig.
It's so narrow and the focus ring is so very close to the mount that it's incredibly difficult to find a gear ring that fits and doesn't rub against the handgrip (which you thankfully don't need to hold on a rig)
The changing length on focus also makes it impossible to use a matte box with a standard adaptor ring/doughnut setup. A skirt can work, but I'm constantly worried that the thing will slip off, you definitely need an aftermarket hood or adapter ring to hook the skirt over, given that the lens doesn't come with a hood.
Speaking of which, it's also very very prone to flare. Not automatically a bad thing, though when I want flare artistically, I usually prefer to just add it in post.
Also... I do so like the little box that it comes in :)
I need a suggestion in second half of August I will go Iceland. there will be the possibility to appreciate the northern lights. Will the Leica 12 - 60 enough for filming and make photo at this phenomenon it I need something like a f1.8 / f1.4 lens.

ugo
so I must choose from
1 Leica 25mm f1.4
2 Leica 15mm f1.7
3 Leica 12mm f1. 4
which is your choice from the best to the worse?
regards
ugo
Also, I still love my first m43 lens, the Pany 20/1.7. It's slow to focus, but it just works for me.
