Can you attach a magic arm if you want to add a LED light panel?
Hey, How would you take portrait photos with this tripod?
You mean portrait oriented, i.e. vertical photos? You wouldn’t. It’s a video tripod with a video head, which is typically shot landscape :-) Seriously in a pinch you could rotate the plate but that’s not what it’s designed for.
I don't get it with confusing release plates. I want that fluid head with 323 fast release plate. Can I just change it?
I see, They have video fast release plate and photo fast release plate for some arbitrary reasons.
+Dimitri T The 323 (just googled it so I assume I'm looking st the right thing) isn't very secure. You want a double release system when you have $10k in gear balanced on the top of your tripod!
First review on youtube of this product NOT paid by Manfrotto - nice someone is disclosing correctly :-) Thanx
+Skumkaninen Thanks :-) I like free gear but yeah it's good to have non-paid reviews. Even the stuff I do with B&H-loaned gear isn't sponsored. Yes I may make a nickel on affiliate sales but without sponsorship I can be honest without concern. Thanks for watching! (And subscribing I hope ;-)
hi there. nice long review of the manfrotto befree travel video tripod.
I'd like to ask a favor please. I've seen many videos of this tripod and many videos of the mefoto tripod. however, i have NOT been able to find any -- not a single one -- youtube videos where some reviewer is actually directly comparing these two tripods. I'm just dumbfounded as there are literally billions of videos on youtube but not one single one where these two tripods are directly compared against each other. Since you have both, it would be very cool if you could do a 10 min or so segment directly comparing these two tripods. I would find that extremely helpful. thanks! keep up the great work!

+Lance Guilin OK, I'll do it this week!
That is true -- I am also looking at the video head model -- but I would like to hear your thoughts on the other differences. E.g. the clasps/twist for the leg sections, the locking mechanism for the legs, build quality and that sort of things. And just differences you note between the two. To be fair, you can compare the two as camera tripods as opposed to video tripods, given that the mefoto doesn't have a video head. Thanks! I appreciate your honest comments on the two tripods.
+Lance Guilin thanks for watching. The MeFoto I have is not a video tripod; it has a standard ball head. So from that perspective, it's a very different tripod. However if you'd like a comparison of weight, stability, and that sort of thing, I could do that. It just wouldn't be a fair comparison on the heads. Let me know!
Great review. Thank you so much for the tip on inverting center column and getting the camera low to the ground.
just ordered this tripod on Amazon & should arrive shortly. I can kinda dig the plastic hook under the tripod as it won't strip the shaft threads should the weight be too heavy over time as opposed to a metal one.
+Franky G Fair enough! I'm digging it. Been using it all week at Adobe MAX. It's been performing well. Only complaint is it's a little hard to level the head because it can shift when you tighten the collar if you're not careful.
