Photography and Experience in Oaxaca, Mexico

Photo Moment - January 25, 2017

PhotoJoseph is back in Ashland and settled in after his trip, and he's already planning on going back, (check out his site for information). He takes us through the photos he took while down there, and gives us some insight on his thought process in composing a shot and what he looks to do when editing.

Do you ever shoot raw on the GH5? Thank you.
+Ruben Layne Ruiz Of course. Always. (You’re talking stills, right? Because it doesn’t shoot RAW video)
Very nice. Ive been to Oaxaca. I really enjoyed it. Your very lucky.
+Ruben Layne Ruiz Luck favors the prepared 😝 Yes I’m very fortunate. Oaxaca is a beautiful place.
Are these images all with the gx85/80?
+ROBIN CHUN The video is a mix of GH4, GX85 and GX8. Oh and if I'm in the shot… a shitty Canon shooting 1080p 😝 (We hired a shooter for one day for BTS). The stills are a mix of GX85 (my photos) and Nikon, um, dunno what (Eric's Photos).
I like how you pronounce Spanish names like you're a native Spanish speaker.
By the way, with my GX8 I can't do region stacking in camera that the GX80/85 can. Do you think Panasonic might issue a new firmware update that will enable the same capability in the GX8?
+The Earthling Haha thanks but I don't know that I could act my way through a third grade school play :-)
I see. Good to know. I think you'd also have quickly become famous if you had chosen a career in Hollywood, before the cameras as well as behind. Just a thought.
+The Earthling vivo en España cuando fue muy joven
Fantastic video! I use a GX8 myself, usually with the Lumix Leica 25 mm and am heading to Oaxaca in a few weeks :) very excited and your video has really got me amped!
+Xticals Awesome!! Have fun :-)
I'm new to Panasonic and just found your channel--awesome! Nice lowlight shots. What lenses did you use on this trip, please?
You are the man! What an experience that trip must have been. Thank you for sharing!
May be the approach for asking people to let their picture taken could be instead of a "please, can I" approach, may be more of a serious "antropological research" approach. Like... "Ok, nice meeting you, please don't move, I need to get this shot". A very serious (more unexpected) way. Obi-one Jedi mind trick if you will.
+DirectorWD40 Haha I like it!
Beautiful
Great way of presenting the trip!
Wich VSCO preset you used? Kodak Gold? Agfa Vista?
Cheers.
Thanks! I used VSCO Kodak Gold 100 Cool+. I actually recorded an in-depth video just today so it'll be on the site tomorrow for http://PhotoApps.Expert — if you go to http://PhotoApps.Expert/live and look for episode 216 after mid-day tomorrow (Feb 01), you should see it.
Pretty cool pictures. I am mexican but haven't been to Oaxaca. The garbage system seems peculiar, I think those garbage workers just found a way to make others work for them hah.
+Hipsteria Could be! The city was full of delivery services that people had to come to. Gas (propane), water, and a few things I never heard clearly. Lots of noise pollution but I loved it. Wonderful city and great food!
