Just noticed an update to Aperture 3.4.4 is available via App Store software update … Doesn't seem to be anything that is earth shatteringly new … though I'm sure many users will appreciate at least some of the improvements.

Just tried it with Nik…sorry…Google plug-ins. The graphic corruption issue with HDR Efex Pro 2 still remains.
A bug fix only release plus “Includes stability and performance improvements”. We can always use that.
Be advised that your library gets updated upon first use with this update. I assume you can no longer open it then with previous versions of Aperture. Make sure you have a backup before upgrading!

I use Aperture exclusively with rMBP and am not having issues with NIK suite since I received a NIK upgrade when I had problems with Dfine.
I have no graphic corruption with HDR Efex 2 and normally will take an image into HDR and then into silver efex pro.

Here’s a link to a post on the Apple Aperture forums <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3060920?start=60&tstart=0> I made recently after a short frustrating exchange with Nik/Google. My problem was mainly that saving in HDR Efex was messed up & it tried to actually save a new file rather than linking the changed file to my library. My solution was to find the old Nik stuff & get rid of it all. There was stuff lingering in ~/Library. Then when I reinstalled the new Google suite it all was fixed. This did include the wacky graphic corruption HDR Efex caused to other images it didn’t even touch. But YMMV as they say.
Butch - thanks for the info. I did my test on an external drive that I have a clean install of ML and Aperture (and LR) on that I’ve been using for testing purposes. The older Nik plugins weren’t even installed.
The one workaround that I’ve found is to select the three (or however many) images in Grid view, edit in HDR Efex, and the process image comes back into the Grid view without any problems. The graphics corruption happens in Viewer and Grid view mode.
That said….with the announcement of LR5, Apple needs to come up with a major update to Aperture that includes (at least) lens correction. I wonder if Joseph (or Chase Jarvis or Joe McNally) could encourage Apple to do this (post haste no less).
