I have a 1Tb iMac disk and a library with 100k (all referenced images)
My library is about 400 Gb and I have about 200 Gb free
When trying to do a repair on this library - when it was managed, I noticed it needed as much free space as the library .
When it rebuilds, will Aperture need as much working disk space (free) as the library size ?
Repairs don't seem to fix the problem I am seeing where large imports start, but get hung, spinning on processing the same image.
Hi a m
Not sure which, referenced or managed, files files need more extra space. I try to leave at least the same amount and more available.
Imports hang probably do to a bad file on a camera card. Do all your cards do the same? If you are going from the camera to the computer try a card reader instead. If you force quit Ap during a hang you will need to use disk Utilies to verify HD and check permissions. Then after that use Ap’s Repair permissions. Rebuild if you are having non importing issues, and of course make sure you are all backed up. Cheers
