I've just bought a Mac Pro 2008 and want to move everything from my Mac Pro 2006. I assume I can simply move the internal drives from one to the other? I have System drive, Time Machine and 2x Media drives
Swapping drives will work, or you could connect the two computers via ethernet or FireWire and use Migration Assistant.
You may want to deactivate any Adobe apps (or any other brand that uses an activation method) before you do that if you don’t want to use them on both machines, then activate them on the new machine … as long as you use the same Apple ID, you shouldn’t have a problem with any iTunes, or App Store purchases.
You may login with either your assigned username or your e-mail address.
