I have my Nikon set to use ADL: Automatic D-lighting seems to underexpose a touch to stop the highlights blowing and then apply a curve to bring the shadows back. It works well for JPEGs but if you shoot raw you need to use Nikon’s NX-2 or NX-D to see the effect.

I’d like to create a setting in Aperture to emulate ADL. But where to start? Maybe a classic ’S’ curve? Or a change to the default black point? Any suggestions?
