If your importing a project of say a holiday which spans over a week the naming would be for example (2014-04-?? | Bali) so what would you put in the day section when it has photos from multiple days?
You can put 2014-04-**-** | Bali, where the first asterisk is the first day of the trip and the second asterisk is the last day. After import you can create smart albums for each day.
only problem with that is that i don’t want a project for each day and if you have more that 2 digits you don’t get the nice visual line break down the library page. i might just put the first day of the multi shoot ?

Yes, it’s personal preference at the end of the day. As long as you have some semblance of order that you understand then any method will work!
