I use Aperture 3 latest , and PS CS6 , today I took an image from Aperture and opened it in NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 I applied the Preset 6 High Structured (smooth) save the image to my desktop , I took exactly the same image, did exactly the same in CS6 I was amazed to find that the images are very different when I viewed them side by side, The CS6 image was better all round ,more contrast more structure, does anyone know why this is happening ? both were saved a Jpegs. I would have thought they should be identical?
Did you start with a raw file, Keith?
If so, it’s likely to be that Aperture renders raw files differently to PS.
The saving as JPEG bit comes after the rendering of the raw file.
It’s my general impression that Aperture produces a far “flatter” starting point than ACR when it comes to raw processing. This is not a bad thing.

Yes I started with a RAW file , I actually like the PS version , I think Camera Raw is a superb for post processing and image. Thank you Russell
You’re welcome, Keith.
I guess you could always tweak contrast/curves in Aperture to create a Version with a “look” more to your liking before passing it to SEP (or any other plugin).
But yes in general I agree, ACR is superb.
