You remind me of the Tony Stark character in the Avenger Movies. Interesting Video
@@photojoseph 😄 You have no choice.
LOL I’ll take it!
Great content.. and man, the skin tones ;o perfect
Right on, thanks. I actually thought your comment was on a different video, which I’d processed differently for that exact reason, so I was excited that someone noticed. But do me a favor and compare what you see here to this video of mine and let me know if you see a difference https://youtu.be/jj3ElcM37bA
@@photojoseph I'm comparing it to other people's videos. This was the first thing that popped in to my head when I saw your videos. I'm using google chrome.
Thanks… and very very interesting you say that about the skin tones. Are you comparing to my other videos, or to other people's videos? Please let me know… also, what browser are you using? Thanks! (I have a reason for asking that I'll explain later)
Content is good but I wish you wouldn’t merge 20 words into 1.
Hey Joseph thanks for making this. When using vLog, a small white box appears at the top of the screen which says “Mon V-LOG/HDMI V-LOG”. Do you happen to know how to turn it off as it as annoying, and I found a few people have mentioned this in other videos. It’s more annoying for users who don’t have external monitors like myself.
You can’t turn that one single icon off, no. With the Disp. button you can cycle through views that will hide it along with everything else, but AFAIK that individual indicator can’t be disabled.

It’s not just about external monitors though. This indicates if you’re previewing your shot with a LUT or not both on the camera monitor “Mon” and/or on the external monitor “HDMI”.
Having trouble installing vlog to gh5. Camera saying no activation code after I follow directions on downloading to SD card? Any suggestions?
Start over. Make sure card is reformatted first, make sure the update file is extracted (i.e. not a .zip), and ensure the camera is off before you insert the card. Those are easy mistakes to make.
Great video! Inspired us to do a similar vid on how to install V-Log on the GH5.
+Totally Exposed Sweet. I'll check it out!
I have one more question for you, did you make a video on how to import the VLOG files into Adobe Premiere? I am only seeing the audio clips, the video doesn't show up...Not sure what I need to do?
MINE DOESNT WORK! WTF I FOLLOWED EXACTLY ALONG WITH YOUR TUTORIAL. It says no activation code....
I finally got it to work, but only after trying on a Windows PC....I don't know why my Mac didn't work.
+D Mp Where did you buy the code?
3 bar battery, formatted, installed .bin file on SD card, insert cam, power cycled up...screen stills says "no picture valid." Not recognizing 1.1 on root folder. Any suggestions? (SD card SanDisk 300MB)
2 hours later...tried an older Sandisk SD card and it worked!
Can you do a video on how to install V-Log L and how one operates for a person who never used this upgrade?
That's exactly what this video is (the installation)… as far as how it works, I'll do that later once I've had more time with it.
With all the talk of "cropless 4K" I am surprised to discover that the 1.1 update format option of 4K/60/8bit @ 150 is actually cropping the sensor.
Thanks you for this info on how to update. I don't have a GH5, definitely want one but it worked for my GX8 body and all my lenses. Thanks again Joseph
fantastic channel. also do you know how much you sound like robert downey jr
+Zaheer Abi Anywhere that sells the GH5 should also sell V-Log
+Zaheer Abi Well I'm used to my voice, so I don't know who I sound like other than me ;-)
By the way how on earth do we get vlog here in the uk. Dont think they ship here
yeah totally dont u hear it
+Zaheer Abi Really?!?
Hi. About V-Log, does it handle only the color grading or does it also handle exposure/luminosity for later correction ? Sorry if my question sounds lame, but I haven't touched any other Lumix camera except the GH2 and I'm considering doing an update with the GH5. Cheers.
Ok Thanks.
+Michel Rivest You get extra dynamic range (2 more stops I think?) so that is a "yes" if I'm understanding your question.
About Resolve 12.5: it does handle 10 bit files, just not the ones coming directly from the GH5. You have to convert them with ffmpeg to ProRes 422 and then they work fine.
Although I normally don't have any problems with following the instructions for firmware updates. But with a $ 3000 camera it is nice to be able to just go along with the proceedings of a Lumix expert :-) And now in version 1.1 Flicker Decrease has become available. Whatever that is as I couldn't find it in the quick guide manual (or how to activate the function). But I guess it is similar to Synchro Scan. Oh wait I see I didn't set my camera to creative video mode but rather to manual photo mode. In creative video mode Flicker Decrease is still not available. So is Flicker Decrease purely a photo function? (Personally I'm of the opinion that Panasonic could just as well remove this "photo" function out of the menu when the camera is set to creative video mode instead of making it unavailable but keeping it listed, but that's me :-) )
Cool, thank you, I have set a reminder.
