Aputure is known for making very good LED lights that are popular among the YouTube community. They reached out to me to see if I was interested in doing a video on their Amaran HR672 (following my look at their little AL-M9), and I figured many of you would appreciate it — so here we go!

mine did not come with batteries. i came here to see what batteries are compatible with it
Can this be powered on even with 1 battery only?
no, you need both batteries
i already bought the bicolor version before seeing your video where you suggest the white version. I like the bicolor, and don't regret the lack of brightness for my situation. its very cool to be able to adjust the color and dimmer remotely. I use an umbrella with it for difussion essentially eliminating all shadows.
The bicolor version does not come with 2 filters only a white one. Ive found that even when using low temp setting that my skin tones are not quite as warm as I would like. Do you think using the colored filter would help?

Better to adjust white balance in the camera. And remember if your WB is on auto, as you adjust the light the camera is likely trying to compensate for it!
Excellent review! very helpful and thorough. I would love to see comparison video with this model as well as the Tri-8 and AL-528
Great review. As I am looking for some portable lights. I can't tell if this is the daylight version. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07F9JPZJ5/?coliid=I3FUVZGDG3NYF2&colid=3V24I77O0RY5R&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Yes it is — 5500k is daylight
Nice review! I've been using this model for a while -- works well! Also note that it charges the batteries when connected to AC power (very handy for travel). The Aputure Tri8 is similar, but more metal, brighter, more expensive.
Yeah I forgot to mention in the video that the batteries charge on the unit itself — thanks for saying it.
Thanks for the review. I am a big Aputure light fan. I have several in different sizes. I started with the small one like you. I switched from goled to aputure for lighting receptions at weddings.
