I've been finding a lot of my photos have had their orientation changed, primarily portrait shot photos now showing in landscape (in the thumbnail previews) but get corrected once I view them. Is there a way to globally fix this, or will I need to go through them one by one?
Select your Photos that you want to update, or simply select them all, then hold down the options button on your keyboard and then go to Photos > Generate Preview.
Holding down the option button simply replaces update preview with generate preview, this should hopefully solve your issue.

Glad that did the trick. I was actually going to suggest just updating the Thumbnails, under the same menu.
