Ben,

You said you tried the download link, but not which one. Did you try my own framework package, or did you try the actual Apple installer for it?

Try this… http://support.apple.com/downloads/Plugin_Manager_1_7_3.

Hi Joseph sorry for leaving the vital details out,I first tried the apple plugins manager 1.7.3 download link which brought up the error message of plugin manager update cannot be installed on this disk, your computer does not need this update, the only thing was the library/frameworks folders all seemed to missing before and after trying this,so i then created the folders and tried adding your framework package into them but i still got the error message:-

Ben,

And you’re fully up-to-date on everything else? You’ve run Software Update… and it shows nothing needed?

Yes all up to date i’m afraid, bit of a tricky one it seems, wondered about a clean install of osx?wasn’t sure about all my files etc as i have never done a clean osx install, never had to,looks like the ssd I installed is the cause and i’m not sure it won’t crash again to be honest

Ben,

Right, that’s what I was going to suggest next. Since you restored from a Time Machine volume, and that didn’t give you a clean install, I’d reinstall the OS.

Fortunately it’s very easy, and you won’t lose any settings. Go for it.
