Go to shopping cart »This script combines the power of AppleScript and Adjustment Presets into one command! With a single click, preview four versions of a photo, each with Auto Levels (Luminance), Auto Levels (RGB), Auto Curves (Luminance), and Auto Curves (RGB) applied to them—and presented Full Screen!
This script is used in combination with a series of Adjustment Presets (included). There can be subtle — or sometimes dramatic — differences in the results of Auto Levels: Luminance vs RGB, as well as Auto Curves: Luminance vs RGB. This script will create a total of four versions of a selected photo and apply all four presets to it, then select and present all four Full Screen for you to compare. Read more about the differences between the four presets on this free Tip; Understanding Luminance vs RGB in Auto Levels & Curves, and Assigning Keyboard Shortcuts in Aperture 3.
Here’s how the script works:
- To run the Script, select a single image (you can not select more than one image at a time) and select 4-up; Auto Levels & Curves, RGB & Luminance from the Script menu. You can be in any view (Browser, Split View, or Viewer).
- The script will create three new versions of the image, and apply the four presets; Auto Levels (Luminance), Auto Levels (RGB), Auto Curves (Luminance), and Auto Curves (RGB). It will also apply matching keywords to each image so you can easily identify them later.
- The script will then select all four images and enter Full Screen mode, allowing you to compare the four side-by-side as large as possible.

Just to say thank you for creating this script Moreton. It works a treat. I did find it rather slow accessing it from the little AppleScript icon at the top of my screen, so I created a shortcut and assigned a button on my Wacom for it. Now just a single press of a button means I can show a customer four versions of their picture almost instantly. Love it and will be testing it in anger in ten days when I have nearly 1,000 sports kids to shoot. Speed is crucial.
