Adjusting the Date Embedded in Images #1

Can we Aperture users overwrite the date & time info embedded in our images using Aperture? I understand the 'Time Zone Adjustment' feature in Aperture and have used it a number of times, but what if one's camera date setting is completely out to lunch - ie) it's off by days or months and not just hours? I believe Lightroom allows users to do this, but I'm not sure about Aperture.

You are in luck. Aperture can do exactly what you want. Look in the following menu: Metadata->Adjust Date and Time… Aperture shows the current date of the primarily selected image. Correct the date for that image and click the checkbox if you want the Master image file changed. If you had selected multiple images, Aperture will also adjust those based on the change you made to the primary image. For example, if you changed the primary image to Oct 1, 2010 at 12:00PM and you took the other images selected at 1 minute intervals, Aperture will adjust the others to 12:01, 12:02, etc. It won’t set them all to the same date and time. I hope this is making sense.

Ahh… Assumed this menu item was going to be the same as the Time Zone Adjustment function. Didn’t even give it a try. Don’t I feel special…

Many thanx, Thomas.
