I have only just found this amazing site - wow!
I have just started using places and have added the location for all of my 2010 photos.
When I go to the places view for my 2010 pictures then the top part says 8 countries then 9 states then 9 cities then 39 places.
When I click and hold 39 places then I get a list of 39 places - but some are duplicates eg Trevi Fountain is in twice as is Wembley Stadium and a few others? I don't have any duplicates in my locations. I tried removing locations for Trevi Fountain ( it then reduced my locations to 37) and then added it back by setting a my location for it - but then it appears twice again??
Am I being stupid, is it a bug??

update - I have just tried this on another imac. I simply added trevi fountain as a location then added the location to one photo - it now shows as two locations on the list of places used by my photos?

Looks like a bug. I verified that I have the same thing. I’ve reported it to Apple; thanks for pointing it out!
In my case, where I found it, I saw that one selection of a Place had 96 photos, and the second had only 9. I realized that the 9 were included in the 96, so it’s safe to assume (from this one example) that all photos are selected in the larger batch. Nothing appears to be missing, it’s just oddly duplicated data.
