I have been happily importing photos directly from my camera's SD card using some of the tips and techniques from the recent training sessions.
All of sudden though, the viewer window seems to have gone awry.
A) When I click on import, I cannot see any of the import settings that should appear on the right side of the browser pane. I can see the images I want to import, but without the settings pane I can't even press the import checked box!
B) When I go to view a project, I cannot see the whole of the viewer window or the toolstrip - the right hand side is missing - e.g cannot see the search bar.
c) When viewing in browser mode, images sometimes only appear in the top line of the browser and there is no slider on the right hand side of the screen.
d) When viewing in the viewer or split view, the image seems to have pushed to the right and there is a lot more gray space on the left hand side.
For existing projects, I can still see everything fine in full screen mode.
I have trashed and re-loaded aperture but still get the same problem. I have searched for solutions on the web and on this site. I have tried all the view settings I can think of.
Bit annoying as I have just done a week in Andalucia, southern Spain and have over 1,000 images that I'd like to organise, edit, place on maps, do smart albums, books etc.
The photos themselves are safely on the hard drive (and backed up) ready to import.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Richard
Richard,
Bizarre problem. Without looking at it, it sounds like your Aperture window is much larger than the screen, and so literally pieces are out of view. But I’d imagine you’d be able to see that and recognize the problem?
Just to be sure… click the green (+) in the top left corner of the Aperture window to resize it.
Assuming that’s not the problem, trash the preferences file. That’s almost certain to fix it. It’s located at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
