Import Folder missing pictures #1

I just tried importing folders as projects and it did not import all the pictures in one of the sub-folders? From the 196 pictures it only imported 162 but it said it imported all the photos. Lucky I look at the file count and seen the numbers did not match. I when back and looked for the missing photos and hand drag each missing photo back in from the Finder. Anyone have the problem?

Eric

It’s not that some of your images are jpg only and some raw+jpg is it?

I look for everything I could think of. The file .NEF and they were one after the other. When from 107 to 235 But missed the first file and randomly missed other files. I can go into the Finder and drag the missing file into Aperture and put the missing file back.

Eric,

Very curious. Can you tell if there’s anything unique about those photos that didn’t automatically import? Look for something that’s different from the photos that DID import, but similar to the ones that did NOT. For example, did the non-imported ones have a similar and unique filename? From the same camera? Different file extension?

It’s not something I’ve come across before but certainly would like to get to the bottom of.

cheers

I did it again with a new Aperture library file and it still did it. This time I made a screen recording and can send it to you. It randomly misses files. It got 164 of 196 files. The folder was a sub-folder but the other sub-folders had no problems. The missing file came same camera and I did change file names. Like is said I can manually drag the missing file from Finder the Aperture and it works? I looked at them from the Finder and no problems. Any thing you can this of to look for?

Thank you,
Eric

Eric,

Is this just happening with this one batch of photos, or are you seeing this on any import?
