When dragging to the map I use search to find the general area - say 'Derby' then drag the photos to where they were taken on the map. Groovy at random and after no more than two drags the map resets to a view of the whole world, so I need to find the place again.
Anybody any ideas how to make it stay until I choose to go somewhere lele?

David,
I’ve been hoping someone else would reply to this one :)
I can’t say that I’ve seen this, but I think I’m usually dragging just once or twice so may simply not have stumbled up on it.
All I can suggest is how to zoom back in quickly; remember that you can command-drag over an area to zoom into it. I usually find that’s fast (assuming you know where you’re going) than searching for it.
Hopefully someone else can give you an answer that’s actually useful though!

Well I think I’ve solved it. I normally tag shots by taking a map view of a smart album called ‘no location’. Tonight I’ve just dragged a couple of hundred photos onto the map from their projects and it worked fine, every time.
