I figured out what happened. I installed the suite with Aperture open. So I closed Aperture. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Nik and they all showed up in the plug-ins editor drop down.
They are plug-ins. The Nik installer does all you need. Just choose edit with plug-in and they should all be in the list.
I think you are confusing it with the external editor preference.
