I was doing a side by side comparison between LR4's develop features (namely the Highlight and Shadow sliders) and enabling the old Highlights and Shadows adjustment using Joseph's free preset, and I can get pretty darn close to matching the images.

How about using the NEW H&S tool in Aperture, compared to Lr? Can you get the same or similar results with that?

I’ve tried that, and LR4’s H&S are actually better.
