Aperture and raw file question ? #1

Hi guys,
Can I export an NEF raw file as a NEF? If not, can I copy and paste to another folder?
The reason I ask is for the odd occasion I want to process the raw file in Nikon Capture NX2

Lastly,
When I import an NEF raw file into Aperture, does it remain as the original NEF file?

I've watched heaps of videos but have not seen these questions answered,
I get my iMac in a week or 2, just want to know how my files are going to be treated and how I can move the originals around, I'm going to get Nik Software as well and happy with converting those to tiff but don't want too many giant tiff files because, all going well, a new camera at the end of the year is going to be 36mp and DAM is going to be a factor
Regards,
Gary

Aperture, and probably NX2 as well, store the applied changes in a separate file. Aperture uses the Aperture library, NX2 xmp-files. This means that you can store your NEX-files on a central place and use the same file for both.
Be aware that changes applied in one program will not be visible in the other. This is something all the DAM programs have.
