Sorry… me again… I hate feeling stupid, but here goes another question about my new D800. When I shoot with an external flash and import into aperture, under the “info” tab is says flash “not fired.” Does anyone know why? Never had this problem when importing into Aperture with my D7000.

Do you have some sort of Nikon own-brand software? Could you import into that? If so, and the metadata is correct in it, but not in Aperture it’s a bug and you’d need to file a bug report with Aperture.
