I need to know if I can fix a blurry photo, and in the case how I can do this. The photograph was taken at night with a Canon compact camera with no tripod.

The sad news is you probably can’t fix it. If it’s not too bad, you could try a heavy dose of the Edge Sharpening brick and then display it small.

As mentionned by Robert, if the full picture is blur, it will be challenging… or impossible.
Are some part sharp? or is it the full picture blur due to a small move during exposure?
If some part are sharp, you should perhaps think to make that part even more sharp and the rest even more blur. It can make nice effect.

If you search Google for ways to fix blurry photos, you’ll see there are several web sites and applications/plug-ins that claim to fix blurry photos. One plug-in I know of is called inFocus from Topaz Labs.
Don’t expect miracles. inFocus is a bit pricey (US$70). The good news is you can download and try it out for 30 days. If it doesn’t work you haven’t lost anything.
