Hi Everyone,

I’m about to purchase Photoshop (Pixelmator up to now..) - how does it work to select multiple images (say focus stack or HDR) in Aperture, open all in Photoshop then save the image as one back to Aperture?

Newby Q I know….

Hi Darryn,

That what I do.  I often work on images in Photoshop after I have exported the versions out of Aperture.  Once I make a new image I save it in PS with a new name and reimport it to Ap.  I even have an import Preset for images that are being reimported into AP.

Because I combine multiple images I do not use the export to photo editor in AP.  Old school but Ive been doing it for so long …. can’t seem to try something new.  cheers

David,

Not to interrupt, but could you explain your steps in a little more detail please.

1.do you export to a folder on your desktop, and use Photoshop from there?

2.When you reimport  to Aperture, the pic will no longer be related to the original, correct? What can I do to keep them related?

3.Do you export ( rather than choose edit with button) because there are multiples?

I’m going to look and see if one of Josephs videos covers this in detail, but it sounds like you have this all working smoothly for you. Is your library managed or referenced. I wonder if I go to a referenced library, if that would make using Photoshop occasionally easier. (open the pics inPhotoshop right from the library folder, rather than having to export end re-import each time.

I am going to learn to use Photoshop once in a while, and am trying to learn the correct workflow right up front…

Thanks

Hi David,

Thanks so much for your response.  That makes sense to me!   Tried and true is generally always best.

Regards

Darryn
