I am using a Nikon D800 and 15”Macbook Pro retina. Upon the first viewing of an image following import there is a color change or shift that occurs just after the image is finished loading. I can’t quite figure out what is happening and there are characteristics of the unloaded photo I would like to maintain. It appears as though reds become over saturated, contrast is increased, shadows become darker.
Does anyone see this and can explain? I’ve tried reducing boost in RAW fine tuning. I also see that “Apple Default” is selected in Fine Tuning drop down gear menu.
Thank you,

Thank you… However, after today’s news, anything related to aperture feels a bit irrelevant. All the best.

I bet that u will have the same effect on any other tool! it is due to the nature of the raw format: the tools are using first the embedded jpg for quick view and process in background the raw file…. then finally the processed raw is displayed.
So Aperture, Lightroom, Photo, etc… I am expecting the same :)
Yes, you are so right. I have not yet used Lightroom but now looking forward to a different RAW processor.
Thanks.
