A brief test of Aperture in the Yosemite Beta OS seems to be working the same as in Mavericks. Exporting an image to Pixelmator was also uneventful. Have not tried all the edits, but so far so good.
I think Apple is going to be updating AP to work with Photos on Yosemite. Hope you have good backups cuz beta testing can be dangerous. Have fun but be cautious
Caution is in place. I have Yosemite installed on an external bootable hard drive. I have NOT activated the iCloud, since that seems to be a rather perilous step for real working data. ( .. could be wrong on this point, but safe.)
iCloud here is working seamlessly on my MBP, and Hand Off is just as good, and very quick to pick up, what App you are in.
Be not scared of the iCloud.

Yes there isn’t a Aperture/Yosemite update as yet. Well not on both my test Mac’s.

I too have tested Aperture 3.5.1 on Yosemite (public beta) and found no issue. I wasn’t extensive testing but I’ve worked one import / editing / processing and outputting versions. I saw nothing broken. BTW just to share: I’m an AP user and I dig my heels and don’t change a thing until I know more. I’m very lazily testing AfterShot Pro (tricky to navigate, no opinion yet) and later Capture One and LR but I’m almost certain I won’t decide anything anytime soon. The fact AP works on Maverick, Yosemite gives us a lot of time, and I did verify that I was able to install AP fresh off the App Store onto a fresh Yosemite, showing that a priori AP can also be used on new systems and therefore its lifespan isn’t limited to that of my current Mac with its current Mavericks.
Glitch!! After trying to get Beta 2, and interrupting the process, both Aperture and iPhoto displayed the same problem - a mask over the image. I was finally able to download and install Beta 2 and the problem cleared up. All is well now.
I find high ISO images with Sony ARW files show the incompatible format message. Restarting no help. Same files and same version of Aperture no Yosemite machine, no problem.

TatooedMac,
My point about iCloud is the following warning on the Beta page:
Important note: Enabling iCloud Drive during setup will disable iCloud Documents and Data for all your existing devices.

I can confirm that there was an Aperture update to go with Yosemite, and everything works as normal.
Mike.
Mike,
My Aperture version on both Mavericks and Yosemite Beta are both 3.5.1
No updates seen, but all working as usual.
