– After 1 hour on phone received redemption code from AppleCare and (Yea!) Aperture 3.6 opened up !
– Window popped up and asked if I wanted to use IPHOTO ACCESS WITH APERTURE (I don’t) so I clicked on OPEN NEW APERTURE LIBRARY (I clicked on it)
– Black screen come up. No Projects, no vaults. Nothing.
PLEASE TELL ME THE STEPS I NEED TO DO SO I MAY OPEN UP APERTURE 3.6 AND SEE MY 250,00 PHOTOS AND 4 VAULTS.
Thank you for your help. I’m frustrated.
Aperture probably doesn’t know where your library is.
Find your library file on disk and double-click it. It should open in Aperture and become the default library from that point on. (Note: if Aperture is already running when you double-click your library file, you should see a dialog asking whether you want to merge or switch libraries. Just click “Switch”.

THIS DID IT!
Thank you for taking the time. My aperture came up and, so far, all looks good.
After Aperture came up, I noticed that the “Processing” wheel would not go away (for hours and hours) and then I ran across an article stating that I should go to (in Aperture) Window>Show Activity to find out why. And the reason is that it is “generating thumbnails”. I have 65,000 thumbnails to go so it might be a day.
