First shot at using Browse at front end of a workflow to cull and rank a basketball game. Copied 462 jpg to my SSD (Macbook 2015), quit all other apps - this machine is not a powerhouse, but it has reasonable performance.
Browse is almost unusable. Loading up the ingest folder, thumbnails are noticeably laggy to load. When viewing single pic full screen and pressing right arrow, or tapping the dislike key, I have to wait at least a second, sometimes two or three till next picture appears - sometimes it flashes the next one, then skips ahead to the one after that. (then it takes 1-2 seconds to go back). Once the program produced a spinning beach ball and had to be force quit.
Lightning fast browser is what they touted. 462 pictures (no raw) brought it to its knees.
Tried increasing the size of the cache file - but it was already at 5G - seems plenty for a few hundred pics. Boosted it to 7, no effect.
Should I just give up on this software? It makes Aperture import seem like a breeze.
Thanks for letting us know. I like their software but wondered of they could handles files. Do they even process RAW?

I very recently began using on1 10’s browse feature to see if it can be used to replace Aperture for initial image screening, rating, adding some keywords, and even organization. I just used it to screen 625 images. As I went through the images, I either rated the image or marked for it for deletion. I found on1 browse to be at least as fast as Aperture. It will fully display an image as quickly as I can hit the arrow key. I did not experience any lag.
I keep my Aperture catalog and the on1 intake folder on the same SSD so the comparison seems valid. I’m running a Early 2008 Mac Pro with 4 core, lots of memory, system on a SSD, and an upgraded graphics card. In spite of all this most newer systems have a much better Geek Bench score regardless of if they are a Mac Book, iMac or even a Mini.
Have you put the folder you are browsing in Favorites and waited until it was done building it’s previews? Do you have Fast Preview turned on?
I would suggest you contact on1’s support if the problem persists.
