I have .mos files from a Leaf back that the finder can display ok but Aperture does not recognize them. I thought they both use the same files in the OS to process them. Aperture says is supports the Aptus-II 7 back. Any suggestions? thanks larry

The note on Apple’s RAW spec page (http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html) says “Requires Aperture 2 or later with Mac OS X v10.4.11 Tiger or Mac OS X v10.5.2 Leopard or later” for the Aptus-II 7.
I’m guessing you probably meet that requirement but it doesn’t hurt to start somewhere.

I am at 10.6.8 with Camera RAW 3.8 and Aperture 3.1.3. I repaired permissions with Disk Utility and Aperture and shutdown. Rebooted and no help there. I opened the image with Preview and Adobe Camera Raw/PhotoShop CS5.1, Capture One and the image looks the same in all three at 100% so it looks like Preview and the Finder are not just displaying an imbedded jpg.
I will search around on the Apple site and see if I can find anything else.
I can open the file in Aperture 3.1.3 with Camera RAW 3.8 on 10.7.1. So there is something in Lion that fixes it. Not sure what. Maybe there will be an Aperture update for Lion soon.
