Aperture doesn't recognise SOME raw files. #1

Ok, I just updated to aperture 3.1.3, but not sure if that is part of the issue or not.

For the first time in ages, I've pulled my canon eos 350D out, intending to use it as a second camera. I used to use it on jpeg, but have since switched toraw shooting. After a series of images I went to import them directly via camera and USB cable. However, only a portion of the files imported were recognisable by aperture!

They all show up as thumbs during the import, but the so-called unrecognisable files show up as black rectangles with the grey warning triangle after import. The files themselves are actually fine and readable, because if I import via image capture and then throw them into aperture they are fine - further, if I delete the files from the aperture library and an retrieve from my mac trash, and reimport they are fine.

So why are they showing as unrecognisable after the initial import, and why only some of them?

Mr Kgoo,

Did you happen to try just relaunch Aperture after the initial import to see if the files became readable?

You know, I don’t know why I didn’t remember the first rule of IT support: “turn it off and on again.” will try that next time, obviously! Thanks for reminding me!
