Hello,
I have been an Aperture User for around two years or so. I love the program and bought it immediately when it hit the Mac App Store.
My issue is involving renaming master files. My library is too large to fit on my computer as managed. Therefore I only have my four and five starred images managed. All the rest of my files are kept referenced on an external drive.
After I make my edits and such for my images, I have trouble renaming the master files. I posted on Google Plus my issue and William Beam and I thought it might have to do with the fact that my pictures are are partially managed and referenced. This issue is for three of my recent projects.
When I return home, I will consolidate my masters for these projects and try to rename the masters. Maybe this might make a difference. Any help would be appreciated.
You can’t rename files that are not connected to the computer and cannot be seen by Aperture. So all images you want to rename must be online. you can build a Smart album and look for offline images (or build a filter for the browser). Reconnect all images and try again. I erred. You can’t make adjustments on offline images but you can change metadata. So the version name can change, are you wanting to change to original file Name as well? Write back and tell us if you resoled the problem.
