Is there any way to change the filenames of images (not the Title, but the actual filename) from within Photos using Applescript or Automator or…? Aperture allows for filename changes and I would really like to have this option in Photos. Thanks.

There doesn’t see to be a way. Likely for good reason; the risk of filenames already in use. Yes, fortunately Apple, or rather OSX, understands Full Path Filenames, but I think you’re better off managing photo titles instead of filenames.
You could of course simply rename the photo file names in the Finder before importing them.
