Disconnecting the Aperture - Facebook Link #1

Is it possible to break the Aperture - Facebook link sometime after you upload an album? I shoot a lot of sports photography and want to get images posted quickly but then later move the project to a new library for storage thereby breaking the link which results in the images on Facebook being erased.

The Aperture link is proving to be a real PITA. Any Facebook albums you posted manually are downloaded back to Aperture so you end up with two versions of the same image.

I was hoping Joseph would have got to the bottom of this one :) At least this forum suggests it is pointless trying to make it work.

Have you tried posting to your wall instead of to a Facebook album? I believe when you do this there is no link back to Aperture. To do this select “Wall” in the album popup menu in the Aperture Facebook dialog box.

You lose the link but you also lose the flexibility to organize your photos within Facebook.

Thanks Thomas

Yes, posting to the wall only works well; but there’s no way that I know of to stop it sucking back all of my other albums. I have twenty of thirty of them and want to leave them there.

Jeff,

I don’t believe there is… other than disabling the entire link by either removing the account from the Preferences, or disabling it in File > Web Accounts > …, I don’t know of a way. That doesn’t mean you can’t—I just haven’t seen (or really looked for one) yet.

Anyone else found a way?
