Aperture Inspector is built on the “Adobe AIR” runtime. This has unfortunately caused some problems , as user with an old and outdated version are unable to the the application to run.

If you have problems getting aperture Inspactor to run, follow this:

Make sure you are using Aperture 3.0 or later. It does not work on 1.x or 2.x versions.

The best approach is to install the latest version of the Adobe AIR runtime, this is the software that makes Aperture Inspector run.

Download this and install before you proceed.

Remove the following files - Make sure you do not have aperture inspector running when you do this:

All the following  files are in the Library-folder in your home folder.

In this path:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/
Delete ALL items with "apertureinspector" in the name
(use the search-box in the finder, limit search to “this folder” and search for file names)

And in this path:
~/Library/Preferences/
(use the search-box in the finder, limit search to “this folder” and search for file names)
Delete ALL items with “apertureinspector” in the name

In some cases there are more than one, if so the other one is called "com.adobe.example.apertureinspector.1A20…" or something like that. The numbers at the end are random - but you can safely delete this folder as well.

Now you are ready to launch Aperture Inspector.
