If you're done working with the iPhoto Library, I'd consolidate everything into Aperture. Having one library reference another is not something I like to see, as it is a big risk for future disaster. If you are unsure of how to do this, please start a conversation in the Forum and we'll help you through it.
I migrated from iPhoto to Aperture approximately a year and half ago. At that time, I followed Apple directions, and imported iPhoto library as referenced. I really don't use iPhoto anymore, so I suppose I should consolidate them.
Is this as easy as selecting all photos in Aperture and using Consolidate Masters?
Any pitfalls to look out for in the process?
Thanks!
John,
Yep, that’s all it (should) take. Your iPhoto Library will likely be inoperable after this, as I seriously doubt that iPhoto will track the move, but I’ve been surprised before!
