The only way I know of to be able to access multiple libraries without actually opening them is through a software called iMedia Browser. I wrote a mini-review of it once on my photography blog, at A Media Browser for Multiple Aperture Libraries (wow that’s old… before this site was born!). Apparently the app is now available on the App Store, too.
That won’t do what you’re asking for, but it is a way to see multiple libraries without having to open each one individually.
