I am looking for a way to transfer pictures from my Nikon D200 via USB cable to a folder on my MAC Book pro. I would like to have the transfer happen live, not a copy every so often. I have in the past tethered directly to Aperture which works great, however for this current work flow I do not want to do so.
Instead of digging around I thought to ask this group. Has anyone done this before with a very cheap solution?
James,
Nikon may have software that allows tethering, and I’m sure there are other third-party solutions that tether as well.
I looked at using Image Capture, but I don’t see a way for it to automatically download, and AFAIK it’s not scriptable either. But if your camera is supported (I just tried with the iPhone, nothing more) you can see the images show up in the Image Capture window as they are made. If someone could manually trigger a download every few minutes, would that help?
Otherwise, I’d just look for a proper third-party solution.
