Not sure how this happened but, somehow my “General” Metadata Preset is no longer in the Metadata List. Is there a way to recover it's factory setting list of options?

Ray,

The only way to restore a metadata set is to restore all metadata sets, unfortunately. You just need to delete the right preference file and the default set will be restored. First quit Aperture, then delete this file:

~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/MetadataSets.plist

If you have custom presets that you don’t want to lose, the only thing I could recommend is to remove the existing plist and relaunch Aperture so it creates a new default plist, quit Aperture again, then download a plist editor and start hacking together the two lists. Not for the faint of heart but doable.

good luck,
