In the Edit Profile page, the signature field does not indicate it is rich text. I created a two-line signature by pressing the “return” key at the end of the first line. When I made a post in the forums the new signatures showed up as one line. I then edited my profile again, added a BR tag at the end of the first line, then edited my previous post in the forum. When I save the edited forum post I was then able to see a two-line signature under my post.
Either “return” key line breaks should be honored, or help text should be included above the signature edit field to inform users that HTML BR tags are required for line breaks.
You may also want to provide some guidance on signatures .. what’s appropriate, what’s not .. how long it should be .. etc.
Walter, thanks for bringing this up. I pointed this out to Joseph last night and he answered my reply, but I did not quite understand how to do this since I am not verse in HTML code. So some simple instructions would be handy. I edited my signature just now so hopefully it will show up in two lines! :)

Looks good. You just have to use ‘<br>’ to force a line break.

Actually it's even easier than that… just switch it to “pain text” mode. I have a change request to make this plain text the default. (as you can see mine is in full HTML, but that's me)

I know this was mentioned in another thread, but I subscribed to this thread and have not received any notice that either of you posted your replies. Another FYI for you, Joseph. Overall, the site looks so much better and more dynamic than our previous AE. A much needed facelift. I’m confident the glitches will be worked out.
