Here’s the purple window that suddenly started surrounding the Photos app. See the solution below.

The solution as described in this Apple Support Forum post is to enter the following terminal command and restart Photos. Seems to work so far. It doesn’t actually fix any problem. It just disables the purple window.

defaults delete com.apple.Photos NSConstraintBasedLayoutVisualizeMutuallyExclusiveConstraints
