In this EXTRA LONG session, lasting just over 60 minutes, we have a look at the some of the oldest image correction tools in the industry; Dodge & Burn. Of course how we do this in Aperture is considerably different than in the darkroom, and even if you’re used to the tools in Photoshop (or perhaps especially if…), you’ll appreciate the differences in Aperture and seeing how to properly use the tools here.

Dodge & Burn are actually all about painting a layer mask between two versions of your image, and that’s how we spend most of this session—learning how those layer masks work so you can get the most from your Dodge & Burn tools.
