I like to apply effects selectively to accentuate my subject. Adjustment brushes help, however there are times when more intricate masking is needed. ON1 Photo 10's Quick Mask and Refine Brush tools are a one-two punch that create complex masks with ease.

Linear curves applied to an image might not seem like a good idea, but it can really give you the flexibility to achieve interesting things, with a little extra input on your part.

Lightroom does a lot of things really well — however, quickly importing photos isn't one of them. Since migrating from Aperture to Lightroom, I use ON1 Browse to do an initial cull of photos from a shoot to weed out the obvious cruft before importing anything into Lightroom.

Do you have Lightroom plug-ins that are in both the Photo > Edit In menu and the File > Plug-in Extras menu? Do you care about how tidy your keyword hierarchy is? If you answered yes to both questions, pay special attention to how keywords are handled when round-tripping photos through your plug-in.
