ATEM (Mini) Tips are back, baby!! What do you want to see next?
This is off today's topic, but on playing back video on an atem mini pro iso, has anyone tried plugging in a DVD player using hdmi. Will it work?
I’ve not tried but if it’s a commercial DVD then it probably wouldn’t work without additional hardware to bypass the copyright security. Of course the DVD would have to be HD as well. The ATEM won’t scale up from SD.
Thanks for this tutorial! Instead of getting into fusion, cannot you just create the stinger on layer V2, add a solid color on layer V1 and then set the opacity of V1 to 0.00 and then render?
That’d be the same as having nothing there, and it’d render to black because it’s looking for something coming in on the MediaIn. It doesn’t automatically become transparent with nothing underneath.
Great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tip…. And thanks for the inclusion in the playlist!
Of course! Thanks for watching!
For ipad users the live air app would be a more seamless choice
@chrisw4144 ah cool. Well anyway, this video wasn’t about the “best” way to do stingers or comparing to any other app — it was showing how to make and export stingers from Resolve. Which of course means infinite flexibility in what you want to design.
@ Mixeffect, video pencil and Live:air are three apps for the switcher that live on both my ipads. Sorry just notices that the name has now changed to live app.
Isn’t Live:Air for Teradek or OBS?
I wish they would update the firmware to allow video from external SSD's or connected computer on the ATEM mini's. The Rodecaster Video is running way ahead of the ATEM Mini now.
That'll never happen -- the hardware isn't designed for it. The $12,000 ATEM Constellation 8K doesn't play video. None of them do; they need external hardware (Hyperdeck) to do it. Of course with that route you get a TON more flexibility and power than you do with simple video playback, but of course, what most consumers need is just simple video playback ;-) Hope you enjoyed the video anyway!
